I have always been a product designer. For over 15 years, I designed physical products for several leading lifestyle and home décor companies in the U.S. I love my profession and I still have a great appreciation for good design, but something has changed.
Who are the people who bought and used my products? I have always wanted to know what they liked about them. It is so fulfilling to design products for customers, but rarely do I get a chance to meet them in person. I often wondered what they looked like; would I want to be their friend?
My curiosity about the end-users led me to learn more about UX design and eventually take an immersive course on the subject. The UX methodology is useful not only for digital products but for almost everything you can think of; the possibilities are endless. By understanding the goals, needs, and frustrations of the users, I can empathize and come up with design solutions in the most authentic and meaningful way.
